Mango Sunset Bed & Breakfast Inn
Base Camp for Kona & Big Island Adventures

SCUBA Diving is fantastic off the Kona Hawaii Coast

We love helping our guests get the most out of their time on the Big Island of Hawaii. Whether it's just relaxing on the lanai taking in our wonderful Kona Coastline views, planning a hike or a trip to Volcanoes National Park, or especially SCUBA Diving and Snorkeling. For divers and snorkelers, we have a special area for gear cleaning, drying and storage. The Kona area of the Big Island has amazing shore diving as well as the famous Manta Ray night dives. Learn more about Mango Sunset SCUBA diving amenities as well as other Big Island Activities on our Links page.

SCUBA Diving / Snorkeling On our 110 mile long West Coast of Hawaii, we have over 1,000 spots of beach access that allow for some of the best SCUBA diving and snorkeling in the world. If you need assistance, there are many dive shops and tour operators to choose from.

Deep Sea Fishing Perhaps the single most well-known and important activity on the Big Island is Sport Fishing or Deep Sea Fishing. The quality of the "big game" here is unparalleled anywhere in the world.
Golf We are close to some of Hawaii's most beautiful golf courses including two spectacular State courses, the Kona Country Club, Hualalai Club and Mauna Kea, Hapuna and Waikoloa golf courses to the north.
Hiking The hiking Hawaii adventures include rainforest hikes, eco-tours, volcano tours, lava tube hikes, hikes through the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, waterfall hikes, Mauna Loa summit adventures, bird watching hikes, mule ride adventures, various wildlife hiking tours and a variety of nature walks, walking tours and sightseeing tours of the island.
Sea Kayaking The most exciting locations for kayaking are to be found off the Kona coast of the Big Island. Here in the lee of the giant volcanoes of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea the tranquil waters are crystal clear and teeming with sea life.
Sunset Dinner Cruises These boats off the Big Island have been known for years as the spot to "party your sandals off."
Volcanoes National Park Visiting the Volcanoes National Park is among the most popular Big Island destinations and makes a great day-trip from Mango Sunset Bed & Breakfast. The most active volcano in the United States, Kilauea has been in a constant state of eruption since 1983 - which makes it the longest known lava flow in scientific history. Watch the molten lava flow and cascade into the ocean, steaming, churning, and forming new land right before your very eyes.
Whale Watching Unlike other locations in Hawaii, the Big Island is not only the seasonal home for the famous Humpback whales (December - February), but is also home year round to a selection of Sperm whales, Pilot whales, Pygmy Killer whales, the Melon Headed whales and the rare beaked whales.
